Chinese Orchestra

Zhonghua Chinese Orchestra seeks to provide a platform for young and interested musicians to learn and share their passion for traditional Chinese music. Although most of our new members enter with little or no prior musical background, the nurturing environment in our orchestra helps our members to grow in confidence and to develop an appreciation for Chinese music and culture.

Throughout their journey with the orchestra, members learn personal responsibility, teamwork, and resilience through a myriad of programmes that extend beyond music. We also aim to nurture leadership competencies in our students by offering members opportunities to lead and guide their peers in their roles as sectional leaders or student conductors.

The Chinese Orchestra performs in numerous school-based events and celebrations. The orchestra also puts up public performances and has performed consistently well in major music competitions since its inception. These performances are valuable opportunities for our students to develop a spirit of excellence and to share the joy of Chinese music with others.
